I am a widow for 11 years already and I very thankful that when I married off my daughter a few years ago I received a large sum from Areivim to help me purchase an apartment. It was a major help. Now that my youngest child recently got married, I am awaiting the help again. My late husband and I joined Areivim right from the beginning, never dreaming that we would be helped by them.
My best friend's husband became sick a year ago, but no one dreamed his situation would deteriorate so quickly. Last month he was niftar, leaving all 6 of their children orphaned, ranging in age from a son of 14 down to a baby of just a few months. One of the first questions everyone asked was "Does the family have Areivim??!" But in this family, the husband took care of the finances, and the fresh widow had absolutely no idea if they were Areivim members or not. It was quite a relief when later that day the Areivim office looked up the details, and discovered that indeed the family had full Areivim coverage. It didn't make the tragedy any less, but it took a huge financial burden off the widow's shoulders.
I have been a member for years, my account has been charged numerous times and sometimes I was wondering what all this is for. I am a healthy person, so is my husband, what am I paying for? Why am I paying every month? All that, was until a close cousin of mine, a mother of 8 young children lost her husband. She was heartbroken and couldn't get back to normal life, until she heard she was an Areivim member. She contacted Areivim and got the money for each of her children plus a sum of money for their daily expenses. This gave her hope for a better future. It gave her strength, helped her pull herself back to life and be a strong back for her home and kids. May you be zoche to only help people, and may we meet in Yerushalyim with Mashi'ach very soon.
As I received the last Areivim check now a week to my wedding, I want to say "Thank You" so much for all your help through my difficult and happy times together, after many challenges we made it through b"h, no words to express my good feelings and gratitude to your organization and especially to Rabbi F. and Ms. P. I came to realize Areivim is much more that a life insurence / wedding insurence it also has a healthy "heart". May Hashem bless you all to have nachas and a good life and to be zoiche to do a lot more mitzves and maasim tovim and a git gebenchet yoor.
