WILLIAMSBURG, NEW YORK (DECEMBER 1, 2016)
Tragedy struck us R”L with the petirah of Moshe Yehudah Weiner z”l. He was only 21 and married for about a year when the accittdent occurred.
Shomrim reported that Moshe Yehudah was delivering supplies to a construction site at Kent Avenue around noon when the accident occurred. While entering his car, he was swiped by a passing truck and suffered fatal injuries.
Moshe Yehuda’s family chose to channel their devastation to a worthy cause. They chose to partner with Areivim in generating communal awareness of Areivim’s programs and urging friends and family to join this noble organization. What a befitting way to perpetuate Moshe Yehuda’s memory. May this serve as an Aliyah for his neshama.
As members of Klal Yisroel, we have an innate responsibility towards each other.
This inherent responsibility was the impetus behind the founding of Areivim USA.
In the event of the death of a member of Areivim USA r”l, each member will be asked to contribute a one-time sum of up to seven dollars for each eligible orphan and widow/widower of the bereaved family. The monthly sum will never exceed $28 per month.
The goal is to establish funds of up to $100,000 per orphan. If more people than the number required to reach that goal join, the amount of assistance collected from each member decreases. The bereaved family’s funds will be overseen and distributed by a board comprised of an Areivim USA representative, a representative of the family, and the family’s Rav.
